Fast and easy filtering of the Data
Grid can be applied via the 'Toolbar Filter'. This
filter accepts standard SQL 'where clause' style
filters. These filters are saved and stored in the
drop-down filter list for quick recall. |

Basic column sorting is supported were possible
simply by clicking the column header you want to sort
on. This sorting is a typical '3-stage' sort; First
click: sort ascending, next click sort descending, last
click no sorting. Indicators on the column headers show
the direction of the sort.

Switching to the 'Advanced Grid' view allows more
in-depth features to be applied such as grouping, filter
builder and specialised field editors. |
|
Filtering in the 'Advanced Grid' view is achieved by
clicking the drop-down button to the right of a column
header. This displays a list of possible filters for the
column. To apply a more complex filter, you can select
the '(Custom...)' item from the list. This will then
display the 'Custom Filter' dialog from which you can
enter the restrictions to be applied.
Once a filter has been applied, you can toggle it on
and off by 'checking' and 'un-checking' the filter
description at the bottom of the grid. Clicking on the
red cross will cancel the filter altogether. |

Perhaps one of the most useful features when data
mining is the ability to quickly display information in
related groups. The 'Advanced Grid' in DataVision
2007 makes this extremely easy. Each column that you
wish to group on, can be dragged and drop at the top of
the grid and the view will automatically group by that
column. Unlimited grouping and sub-grouping and sorting
can be achieved very quickly.
Full editing features are available when the view is
grouped and sorted, as well as the ability to produce
'Quick Reports' with the same grouping and sorting. |
